The pups are still healthy and gaining weight, averaging 1490 grams or 3.3 pounds. They are beginning to open their eyes, becoming more mobile, and learning coordination. Watch the movie of the pup rolling over if you want to see. Their nourishment is only from Alda's milk. They don't have any teeth yet.
Alda is becoming more active and alert. She is eating her daily 10 cups of food without a problem, just like a lab. The high quantity of food is needed to produce enough milk for 8 pups. One day during her morning clean up bath, Bev came in the room and didn't recognize her. Bev wondered why a tired old dog was wagging her tail at the sight of her.
