All the pups are healthy and gaining weight rapidly. They have doubled their weigh since birth, now weighing between 750 and 950 grams, about 2 pounds.
Alda slept most of the week, recovering from the birth. At the end of the week, she became slightly more active and began eating better. Since the birth she has been eating 9 cups of food daily. Her activity consists of walking down the hall to the bathing room and sitting up. She gets a daily morning (rear-end only) bath to clean her up from the birthing fluids that are still releasing.
Puppy Socializers have been working with the pups. They pick each one up, hold and pet it. This is to get them used to human contact.
The pups still have their eyes and ears closed. They find Alda by smell and temperature.
