Was Arizona and Utah ready for us?
Our two heroines (Marilyn and Bindy) traveled from
San Francisco to Arizona and Utah in twelve days.

Friday

   
 

Left Bay Area at 3 p.m. and drove to the Forest Service office on Highway 50, where we spent the night.

Saturday  
  Spent the day at Mono Lake, enjoying the light winds and a ranger led hike along the south shore. Arrived at the Grand Canyon.
Sunday
Monday
  Early morning hike about an hour down Grand Canyon's Bright Angel trail, a couple of Ranger led talks on the rim and a evening slide show program on Phantom Ranch.
Tuesday
  Canyon de Chelly  
Wednesday
  Four wheel drive jeep tour in the Canyon De Chelly. Purchased these pinenuts during the tour.
Thursday
  Monument Valley    
Friday  
  Natural Bridges    

Saturday

  Canyonlands, Needles District
    Blind Curves
Sunday
  Yoko and August gave us a personalized tour of Arches' Fiery Furnace
We found this deer hair on the trail.
Nearby, the sand was littered with coyote and deer tracks.
 
 
 
    Rode Slick Rock
     
Monday

Arches to Salt Lake City, stopped driving due to snow storm.
Spent the afternoon swimming and relaxing in the hotel's pools.

Tuesday Shopped at an outlet store. Donner Pass open, but chains required.
  Salt Lake to Reno.
